What’s crackin’ nostalgia nerds!
With Halloween approaching I thought it would be cool time to post a What We Do In the Shadows Movie review. This is your friendly neighborhood Staff-man’s first annual Halloween blog post. I’ve just seen this movie for the first time and I’m excited to give you my opinion.
The film was released in 2014 and written by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Considered a instant cult classic the movie takes a mockumentary look into the dark world of four vampire flat mates who live in New Zealand. I watched this movie over the weekend and I gotta say it cracked me up! Watching the night time Shenanigans these vampires get into was fantastic to say the least. I found myself hooked on the storyline and the comedy gold that follows. Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi writing hits all the right notes in this film.
A prime example of this is ( SPOILER ALERT) when our protagonists are out one night and they start talking shit to a group of werewolves who are lead by comedian Rhys Darby. This encounter is funny as shit! And ultimately pays off later in the movie. Overall, “What We Do In The Shadows” is a good movie to add to your Halloween watchlist for a Halloween night party or pregame before heading out to partake in some trick or treat debauchery.
